What my experience looks like

  1. MODIFI, Remote - JavaScript Engineer

    FEB 2022 - PRESENT

Trade finance — we pay sellers upfront for invoices they're owed and collect from the buyer later, across India, China, Bangladesh and Europe. I started on customer onboarding, then moved to the transactional side, where I now solely own the frontend for the trade, billing, matching, customer and PDF-generation services — the last of which is an Express API as well.

    • Cut staging translation load times from 10+ seconds to under one
    • Added production alerting for missing and failed translations
    • Built a draft-trades details view that ended admin escalations to engineering
  2. Seawise Capital, Delhi, India - Software Engineer

    JUNE 2021 - JAN 2022

A seven-person trade-finance startup working the same problem as MODIFI, which acquired us in early 2022. I was one of two engineers alongside the CTO, working full-stack across a Node and SQL monolith.

    • Rebuilt the customer dashboard from the ground up
    • Built the transactional email system — status-triggered notifications and daily trade-summary digests for sellers
  3. Fame Technologies, Remote - Frontend intern

    JUNE 2020 - SEPT 2020

A small agency building websites and internal tools for client companies — taken during my third year of engineering. I rebuilt their landing page from scratch in vanilla JavaScript and CSS, and shipped feature work on client applications.

    About me

I studied computer science at GGSIPU, graduating in 2021, and started out full-stack at Seawise Capital — a seven-person trade-finance startup where I was one of two engineers. MODIFI acquired us the following year, and I've been there since, moving from customer onboarding to owning the frontend for the services where the trades actually happen.

Most of what I enjoy about frontend is the part people only notice when it's missing. On this site that meant checking contrast ratios, making every animation respect prefers-reduced-motion, and subsetting the font from 4.6MB down to 44KB. At work it looks like cutting a ten-second translation load to under a second, because that wait was quietly costing the whole team every day.

Before any of this I spent a lot of time on competitive programming in C++ — LeetCode and HackerRank contests, mostly — and it's still the thing that shaped how I break a problem down. Away from a keyboard I'm usually bouldering, playing badminton, or in the gym.
